SUMMARY:Adoption of preventative healthcare innovation in an evolving health and care economy
DESCRIPTION:The innovation opportunity for preventative healthcare is huge\, yet products\, services and concepts that could improve health\, fitness and quality of life struggle to find routes to adoption. Some of this challenge centres on the business model\, but there is more besides. \n‘Health and Care’ spans a vast spectrum from hospitals to everyday fitness and wellbeing\, drawing in highly specialised professional medical teams. and educating all age groups to make the best choices for their own long-term wellbeing. A system that is fit-for-purpose should consider these aspects and understand that value is added by preventing\, reducing or delaying demand on the increasingly complex management of illness.  However the business model that dominates at present favours intervention at much later stages. \nOur panel of speakers will provide several viewpoints\, and our goal is to stimulate thinking from both entrepreneurs and the healthcare system about what can be done differently to encourage uptake of validated products and services.
