SUMMARY:MSK & obesity – The way forward for providers\, clinicians\, campaigners and policy makers
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this online meeting is to align everyone interested in the inter-relationship between poor musculoskeletal health and obesity with an agreed set of actions. The audience of providers\, clinicians\, campaigners and policy makers will debate a range of issues including: \n\nLack of access to holistic care – How can the system deliver better integrated services to support the interaction between MSK pain\, obesity\, deconditioning\, mental health and wider inequalities?\nAccess to surgery for high BMI patients – How can we move towards evidence-based\, person-centred surgical decision making\, rather than an oversimplistic focus on arbitrary BMI thresholds?\nPrehabilitation & rehabilitation – What support and interventions are needed?\nUse of weight‑management medications – What additional evidence do we need to inform surgical guidelines?\n\nThe webinar is hosted by Orthopaedic Research UK\, in association with the Obesity Health Alliance\, Arthritis UK\, Arthritis & Musculoskeletal Alliance\, and the National Orthopaedic Alliance. It will feature short presentations from clinicians and other experts on this topic plus plenty of opportunity for debate.
