SUMMARY:NIHR Webinar Series - PPI in Action
DESCRIPTION:What is the webinar series about? \nPatient and public involvement is a prerequisite for all research funded by NIHR. It can enhance the relevance and quality of research and help build trust in the research and its outcomes. \nBut how do we do it effectively? What lessons can we learn from when things didn’t go as well as intended? And how do the UK public involvement standards find expression in practice? \nThis webinar series\, drawing on the experiences of public contributors and researchers\, will showcase examples of patient and public involvement in NIHR funded research. \nWhat is the purpose? \nThe webinar series will highlight: \n\nHow the UK public involvement standards find expression in practice.\nWhat factors contributed to successful\, or otherwise\, patient and public involvement.\nHow patients and public informed decision-making\n\nWho is the audience for the webinar series? \nThe webinar series will be suitable for people with varying levels of experience of patient and public involvement in research\, including: \n\nResearchers\nPatients and public\nOutreach Staff\n\nOur first webinar of the series is called “Co-production for research with impact” \nOur speakers will be: Dr Megan Wyatt\, Andy Woodhead\, Dr Rosie Tope\, Dr Andy Northcott\, Dr Shadreck Mwale and Dr Katie Featherstone from The Geller Institute of Ageing and Memory\, University of West London.
