SUMMARY:Understanding Health Equity
DESCRIPTION:Deloitte and NIHR invite you to an exclusive training\, bringing together colleagues and partners across NIHR\, to learn and discuss: \n·          What is health equity? \n·          What is the impact of social determinants on health? \n·          How can you activate health equity in your work? \n·          How can you learn more? \n  \nSocial determinants of health account for up to 80% of health outcomes\, leading to vast differences both across and between countries and populations. \n  \nOutcomes from surgery are not equal – people from deprived backgrounds are more likely to face longer wait times and face multiple health conditions which means their post operative outcomes are worse 1.  From early research through to implementation and evaluation of surgical innovations – NIHR play a critical role in improving health equity for surgery and beyond. \n  \nJoin us to discuss how to drive Health Equity – the fair and just opportunity for everyone to fulfil their human potential in all aspects of health and wellbeing. \n  \n\nhttps://www.kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-analysis/reports/health-inequalities-nhs-waiting-lists
