Improving Equity and Inclusion in Health Research

This training will consider inequities in the design and conduct of health research and will offer examples of involving people with multiple long-term conditions (MLTC). Sessions will examine the inclusion and recruitment of under-served groups, including people who lack capacity to consent and those experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage, alongside issues relating to intersectionality and the potential for AI to widen existing inequities. Drawing on methodological expertise, community perspectives and the INCLUDE framework, the training will provide opportunities for participants to reflect on challenges within their own research and consider practical approaches to improving inclusion and equity in MLTC research.
