One of our aims is to work collaboratively with the wider adoption landscape to improve efficiencies in translating research into benefits for patients and the public, the health and care system and for wider economic gain.
This means that for surgical care, we need to demonstrate impact in the following areas:
- Accelerated adoption of diagnostics and technologies for surgical care
- Improved clinical outcomes for patients on the surgical pathway
- Reduced elective waiting times for surgery
- Reduced delayed discharges
- Quicker return to quality of life
- Cost savings to NHS
- Carbon reduction
- Growth of UK plc
To increase our chances of achieving impact we have launched cross-cutting initiatives that support our aims and objectives. This also means that projects and collaborations will be prioritised by the potential impact, in addition to thematic priorities.
