Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in the research cycle
September 25 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
An integral part of research funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is to ensure that patients, carers, service users and the public have the opportunity to shape and influence the relevance, quality and impact of our health and care research.
One of NIHR’s strategic commitments for public partnerships is to strengthen capacity and capability. NIHR is committed to providing guidance and training on PPI for researchers. This webinar is relevant to you if you are an NIHR funded researcher, a researcher applying for an NIHR Fellowship award and staff accountable for public involvement.
The 60-minute webinar will cover:
- NIHR’s definition of public involvement
- NIHR Strategic Commitments for Public Partnerships
- expectations of PPI from NIHR
- discussion on the 7 steps of PPI in the research cycle
- signposting to additional resources
By attending this webinar, you will discover:
- how to incorporate your public involvement successfully in a research cycle
- insights from a public contributor that you can apply to your programme of work
The webinar will be facilitated by Linda Onerhime-Prince, NIHR PPI Manager, and Silvia Bortoli, NIHR Senior Strategic Improvement Manager.
